Hotel: Chandelier of Lost Earrings

In this project by Martin Hulbert Design, Agapanthus teamed up with Lauren Sagar, to create a chandelier of lost earrings.
The original Chandelier of Lost Earrings was created by Lauren Sagar in collaboration with Sharon Campbell and was initially stimulated through discussion with staff at St Mary’s Hospital (Central Manchester University Hospitals), where staff were asked to donate lone earrings, which had formerly been a pair, and which had some emotional resonance or significance for the wearer. The resulting sculpture is touring the country.
With this project Agapanthus and Lauren dressed a turn of the century antique brass waterfall chandelier in thousands of earrings, rings, bracelets, beads and crystal droppers.
Martin Hulbert and Agapanthus also designed complimentary brass wall lights built from scratch by Agapanthus using brooches.
