Ornate Birdcage Chandelier with a Mix of Crystal and Glass Drops
SOLD
This birdcage chandelier originates from early 1900s Italy. The chandelier is dressed in an eclectic mix of drops that compliment the form of the chandelier. From the lower and upper main part of the frame hang strings of glass buttons each finished with a harlequin cut glass pear. Crystal teardrops hand around the central cage of the chandelier and tigers eye drops finish each arm. On smaller delicate brass parts of the chandelier glass icicle drops have been used. The chandelier frame is heavily oxidised and holds eight lamps in total. The cast brass work is very detailed with floral motifs and leaves. The dark oxidised frame has not been polished back to retain the natural aged brass effect. The chandelier comes supplied with braided flex, chain, a ceiling rose and a chandelier hook plate. Chandelier requires SES lamps, these are not included.
This chandelier has been fully restored and rewired here, in Stockport, near Manchester by our small team of experts and is now ready to be installed. We recommend that this large birdcage chandelier is installed by an electrician and into a joist or a supporting noggin. To clean the chandelier dust the brass components regularly with a soft cloth. The crystal drops can then be wiped with a glass wipe or a cloth that has been sprayed with glass cleaner. A final wipe with a paper towel will give a polished finish.
