Large Continental Brass and Crystal Chandelier. It was most likely made in France in the early 20th century. Now rewired the chandelier has eight arms made with reeded brass, adorned with rosette couplets. Each arm has a moulded crystal bobéche pans from which hang six very rare crystal icicles in a shape we have never before seen. Two of these have been lost over time. The top and bottom of the chandelier has a hand blown and hand cut crystal crown and bowl respectively. The chandelier is further adorned by beautifully cut crystal drops and mitres. The inner section and bottom bowl also have two excellent crystal balls. The brass has now dulled with time to a lovely patina. A truly lovely and unique chandelier. The chandelier is supplied with antiqued brass chain, a ceiling rose and braided flex. It requires eight E14 bulbs. These are not included.
This chandelier has been fully restored and rewired here, in Stockport, near Manchester by our small team of experts and is now ready to be installed. We recommend that this chandelier is installed by an electrician into a joist or a supporting noggin. To clean the chandelier dust the brass components regularly with a soft cloth. The glass and crystal can then be wiped with a glass wipe or a cloth that has been sprayed with glass cleaner. A final wipe with a paper towel will give a polished finish.
