One trend that shows no sign of disappearing is the use of vintage desks in children’s bedrooms and playrooms. As a both charming looking and incredibly useful piece of furniture, it is easy to understand why and we have a whole Pinterest board full of ideas of how to style them in your home.

Accompanying them with educational posters, globes or lettering salvaged from shop signage is one great way to expand upon the vintage theme. We have a huge supply of letters in stock and a wide variety of styles which look fantastic when used to spell out a name or motto, creating a playful personalised wall display.

We have a large collection of vintage school desks available for purchase, including the quirky industrial desk with attached chair pictured above – a fantastically unusual piece that would add a contemporary touch to any interior. We also have several of the traditional wooden hinged lid in stock and have had lots of fun experimenting with our wide range of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™ to create exciting decorative designs.

Alternatively, antique wooden school desks look equally fantastic used in hallways or living rooms as side tables. Especially as the lift up lids make it so easy to conceal all the odds and ends that get accumulated in these communal areas. We have one particularly lovely example (pictured below) that would be perfect in a bohemian style home, with the characterful patina of paint and glorious signs of use.

As with all our stock, new items come in regularly, so it is well worth calling in to our lovely shop in Stockport’s Old Town to see what we have available.
