Our beautiful shop in Stockport’s historic Old Town quarter is the perfect backdrop for Christmas – this year’s decorative touches included a delicate dried hydrangea wreath to welcome visitors at the front door and a selection of hand-picked ivy from our gardens amongst a range of our opaline spherical glass shades in various sizes; cleverly creating the effect of an indoor winter garden of oversized mistletoe for our Christmas window display. We also created strings of amber, green and clear antique glass balls strung along wire to act as garlands of winter berries. The stars of the show were our bud shaped opaline shades, wired with bold yellow braid. We had lots of interest in these gorgeous lights and quickly sold them as a complete set of ten to a customer who loved the abstract look created by grouping in multiples.
We always have the stove plus a candle or two ablaze on most dark winter days, but took the festive season as an opportunity to add a few more, giving a cosy glow of ambient light to the shop and bedecked our grand dining table with oranges and ivy in amongst the silverware. And of course, with chandeliers being something of a favourite, handfuls of crystal drops added the most luxurious finishing touch. We sell our drops all year round – some to people looking to create their own sun-catchers as well as those looking to replace a broken crystal or two.
